Here are some ideas for stay-at-home crafts your children can do:
Paint with Ice cubes – freeze water and food coloring in ice trays, freeze with a toothpick and enjoy some cool painting.
Have a neighborhood scavenger hunt
Make giant bubbles – poke a hole in the bottom of a paper cup or the bottom of a water bottle. Dip. Blow
Make obstacle courses out of crape paper streamers (used in hallway – kids have to climb under and over to get to the end w/out touching paper)
Have a picnic in the front yard
Have a puppet show – use brown paper bags to make puppets
Dig for Fossils – use dinosaurs from dollar tree, burry them, use paint brushes to dust away dirt
Set up a Lemonade stand
Camp in the Backyard with s’mores and roasted hot dogs (dessert first intentional)
Have a Water balloon fight
Plant a garden
Build a fort
Create Sidewalk chalk art/mural
Enjoy a Movie Marathon – pick a movie series, such as Harry Potter or Star Wars, and have an all-day or all-night movie marathon complete with popcorn, snacks and intermissions.
Let your kids practice being responsible, while earning a few dollars at the same time. How about creating fliers and going door to door with House Sitting, Pet Sitting, or Pet Walking services?
Let your child tutor a younger child in reading or math. They only have to know more than the child who they’re tutoring.
Parent’s Helper – Have your child offer their service to entertain younger children by reading to them or playing games with them while their parent has a little time to his or herself.
